Status in “notify-osd” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Ok, you will need good reflexes to reproduce this one:
  1. Change volume or brightness and the notification shows up.
  2. As soon as notification starts to fade-out change brightnes/volume again

  The fading notification will flash to full opacity to show the change
  but then it will quickly close.
