  Notifications stop displaying

Status in “notify-osd” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I have been running into this bug for about a year and haven't been
  able to figure out the cause.  If I keep my computer on for a day or
  two the notifications stop displaying. I've downloaded the source and
  run append-hint-example.py without seeing anything.
