Title:
Character encoding for notify-osd with empathy: problem with accents
Status in “notify-osd” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Hello,
I've noticed a little bug in Empathy related to Ubuntu notify-osd and
french language : for example, when a contact connects, a notification
appears to inform on that event, and in french the text for Empathy
is:
"XXXXX s'est connecté"
Problem, certainly due to character encoding, is that the accent ' is
transformed in code "'"
In Pidgin there is not such problem as text for connection
notification is "XXXXX est en ligne", without accent. In Pidgin also
notifications which have content of the contacts messages show well
the accents or letters like "é".
Tested with last version of Empathy ppa on Ubuntu Karmic.
Best regards.
