  rendering issues in alt-tab when launcher tooltips are displayed

Bug description:
  Using unity is current trusty:

  - log into an unity session, open some softwares
  - move the mouse pointer over the launcher icon to display a launcher tooltip
  - use alt-tab to cycle between those open softwares

  -> the background flickers when cycling through entries
