Title:
  There are no icons in application menus in Unity

Status in “appmenu-gtk” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 11.10's Unity doesn't show icons in application menus, unlike
  in Gnome Classic.

  For example, if you look at Firefox in Maverick, some menu items have
  icons on the left of the text. Eg Bookmarks / Bookmarks Toolbar. But
  in Firefox in Unity these do not appear.
