[Bug 904798] Re: New design proposal for indicator-session
I was surprised to see this ticket when doing bug triage on old
untouched indicator-session bugs.
As you've probably seen, indicator-session actually did get slimmed down
a lot in 12.10, removing a lot of the same clutter that you removed --
see <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SystemMenu> for more information.
I'm marking this bug as "fix released" since >= 12.10 is similar to what
you'd listed here; looks like you and the design team were thinking
along similar lines. :)

Bug description:
I'd like to see new indicator-session for precise. It's currently (in
oneiric) very bloated and full of not so regularly used stuff (like
startup applications, monitors, printers). I've gimped a mock-up to
show my approach that I've named indicator-system and uploaded it to
Ubuntu One: http://ubuntuone.com/p/18NR/
