This is a unity, not unity8 bug. Unity8 only currently works on touch
devices (there's a preview desktop session available), but looks
completely different.

  The letter 'n' is garbled in search lens

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  When typing the letter "n" into the search lens it comes out garbled
  but everywhere else appears to be ok. Using the US_EN keyboard layout.
