Title:
Regression: cannot set HUD key binding
Status in Unity:
Fix Committed
Status in “hud” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I used to be able to set the HUD keybinding by going to System
Settings -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Launchers.
The default Alt-L keybinding is very disruptive to Emacs users, so we
tend to like to rebind the HUD. In my case, I want to set it to
Alt-R.
On Trusty machines where the rebinding has already been done, it seems
to still be the case across reboots. However, one of my machines (for
some reason) always resets my custom keybindings to the default after
a dist-upgrade and reboot. I used to just reset the HUD launcher back
to Alt-R when that happens, but now I can't, and it's breaking my
Emacs use.
Did the HUD launcher keybinding setting move to a different location
in System Settings? Was it deliberately removed? If so, *please*
bring back the ability to rebind the HUD launcher.
