[Bug 1309964] Re: Setting the preference to move window control to the right no longer works
Is there at least any unofficial patch to move buttons to the right?
Although I like Ubuntu & Unity much, this bug lets me switch to
Mint & Cinnamon instead.

Title:
Setting the preference to move window control to the right no longer
works
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
On earlier versions of ubuntu, either [gsettings set
org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences button-layout
"menu:minimize,maximize,close"] or [gconftool -s
/apps/metacity/general/button_layout -t string
menu:minimize, maximize, close] enabled to change the window control to
the right. Now, in Trusty (14.04) even the unity-tweak-tool, which
still enables this option, isn't able to achieve the wanted result.
This is probably due to the new unity decorations.
The user should still have the opportunity to choose this setting (let
the user choose, whenever there are differences about user experience
preferences), if only because the XP support just ended and all these
new users don't want to have that much of a user experience difference
when going to Trusty (don't make the same mistake windows 8 did,
thinking users will adapt to UI changes - letting the user choose in
such cases is always the best option).
This is my first bug filing report, sorry if it doesn't fit the format
you are used to, feel free to edit it, but I think it really brings up
in important point that has to be addressed in a LTS release.
