[Bug 1017560] Re: unity does not recover after resume from suspend
No because I have moved forward to 14.04, and I'm using Gnome.
I did have the same problem in Gnome in 14.04, and I fixed it by
installing the newest proprietary NVIDIA driver.

Title:
unity does not recover after resume from suspend
Status in Unity:
Incomplete
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When I resume from suspend, my screen is either black or the desktop
will be visible, but there is no popup for unlocking the screen or
anything else I can interact with. Sometimes, when the desktop is
visible, I can move the cursor and it switch from the arrow to the
click-to-type cursor, perhaps indicating I'm mousing over a field I
can type in. However, clicking this and then typing my password then
<Alt> + u does not unlock the screen as it normally should.
To address this issue, I'll usually go to a terminal (<Ctrl> + <Alt> +
<F1>) and type "unity" after logging in. This works about 10% of the
time.
This bug affects me about 40% of the time I suspend so it's quite
problematic.
