[Bug 1311316] Re: After locking screen there is no input field to type password for unlock

I have this issue still, if i can send anyone log info please request it.
One thing i noticed is it seems to happen more often after i notice a system freeze from trying to open Chrome.
And it seems this only happens after many days with out a reboot.

Applications i use
Virtual Box / Vagrant
pycharm / Netbeans / sublime3
Chrome
Firefox
Hipchat
Google Music webapp

Machine
I have a dual monitor setup as well on a Leveno Think Server (It has 2 hdmi ports)
19.4 GiB
Intel® Xeon(R) CPU E3-1225 v3 @ 3.20GHz × 4
Intel® Haswell Server

I update / upgrade often 2-3 times a week

Originally i did a upgrade, but since this issue i have done a fresh
install of 14.

Hope this helps someone

I use the above recover method it works, but it wrecks the panels
causing me to close everything and restart.

Bug description:
Sometimes (but not always) after locking the screen there is the
situation not having any input field where I can type the password to
unlock the session again. The shaded gray area simply does not have
the input field. I can't do anything, I have to switch to text console
and stop/start lightdm service to cure the problem loosing all of my
  session :(
