Title:
Confusing keyboard navigation in dash (right/left give inconsistant
changes)
Status in Unity:
Triaged
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
Keyboard navigation in the dash does not work as expected - pressing
left arrow after pressing right arrow does not necessarily return you
to the original location.
To reproduce:
1. Press the super key to open the dash
2. Press down arrow twice to select the first application in the list of applications
3. Press the right arrow repeatedly to select the right-most application in the list of apps
4. Press the right arrow again. The "Filter results" button is selected
5. Press the left arrow
Expected results:
The application selected in #3 is re-selected
Actual results:
The input field is selected
This was surprising on a couple of levels:
1) The filter results button is directly above the search results, not to the right
2) You can't retrace your steps using the arrow keys: tapping the left arrow does not 'undo' the effects of tapping right arrow
3) The filter results button is immeidately to the right of the search input field, but you can't get to the filter results button by pressing the right arrow when the search input field is selected. Therefore It's extra-surprising that right arrow gets you to filter results from other places in the dash.
