[Bug 1157780] Re: "stop networking" crashes window manager

Would you clarify what you do to stop networking? Such as in the GUI or
using ifconfig.

On 15.10 Beta 2, I've tried unticking "Enable Networking" from the panel
icon's menu and, although the window manager doesn't crash, there is a
system software problem error message. Upon the next login, Apport
reports the attached error.

Status in Unity:
  Confirmed
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  When running e.g. "stop networking" from within Unity, it succeeds,
  but the window manager then crashes, leaving undecorated windows.
  This crash is detected, but I cannot submit the problem information it
  gathers due to networking being down.
