  Unity 2D problems with 16bit colour

Status in unity-2d package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When using 16bit colour (which is sometimes really useful for
  performance reasons, especially under LTSP), Unity 2D can't render the
  dash. There are also some red artifacts that appear under some of the
  launcher icons that hover over it.
