Title:
Dragging icons don't have transparent backgrounds

Status in unity-gtk-module package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
When unity-gtk-module is loaded dragging icons on the MATE desktop or
Caja file manager results in the icons not having a transparent
background. An animated gif is attached to demonstrate the issue.

This issue appears to have manifested since this upstream GTK commit
  landed.
