  Ubuntu MATE Welcome "freezes" during opening animation

Bug description:
  The window content was still visible while installing from the iso image.
  Ubuntu Zesty Zapus (development branch) 17.04
  ubuntu-mate-welcome version 17.04.01

  I tried to set the font size (see message "[Welcome] DPI below 50. Out
  of range.."), but it only removes the message, window stays empty
