Message #01555
[Bug 327189] Re: Unable to mount ~/Private directory
I created an encrypted /home/USER directory on installation, and
recorded (for some reason) two phrases, which I dumped on my storage
directory.
Today I decided to write them down and delete the files - so first I
decided to test them. I booted from CD, opened a root nautilus and saw
in my /home/USER directory two links.
Text file shortcut link to : THIS DIRECTORY HAS BEEN UNMOUNTED TO PROTECT YOUR DATA.
>From the graphical desktop, click on:
"Access Your Private Data"
or
>From the command line, run:
ecryptfs-mount-private
I tried in Terminal first:
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ ecryptfs-mount-private
ERROR: Encrypted private directory is not setup properly
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ /usr/bin/ecryptfs-mount-private
ERROR: Encrypted private directory is not setup properly
Wow.
Of course, the GUI link gives the same result running normall and as
sudo
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ /usr/bin/ecryptfs-mount-private
ERROR: Encrypted private directory is not setup properly
