[Bug 729883] Re: ebook-viewer: problem with encoding

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: calibre

  Ubuntu 10.10, i386
  calibre 0.7.18+dfsg-1
+
+ $ ebook-viewer --version
+ ebook-viewer (calibre 0.7.18)

I found that ebook-viewer from calibre package cannot display correctly
several eBooks those are handled well by FBreader. Problem is with
encoding. I have one eBook example, I used this example in #723046
  already.

The same book in different eBook formats can be downloaded from here:
  http://www.palmknihy.cz/free/index.php?BOOK=468

The book is in Czech language. FBreader opens the book correctly in all
  formats except "mobi UNICODE" (#723046).

EPUB format is displayed correctly with ebook-viewer, you can use it as
  a reference.

ebook-viewer doesn't show Czech characters well for these formats:
  PRC
  PDB

As FBreader can display the same book correctly, I guess that ebook-
viewer has some issue with encoding.

When I try to open ebook in "UNICODE MOBI" format with ebook-viewer, I
get an error that ebook is protected with DRM and cannot be opened. I
  think this is not true...
