Xubuntu 11.04 : Actually I had trouble in converting both epub and pdf
to mobi but my readout had the same statement.   " Converting XHTML to
Mobipocket markup" After then was the hangup.  I upgraded with the
binary (file contains all dependencies) to 0.8.24 from the Calibre
website.  It still had the same problem.  The files that hung up in
Xubuntu actually would convert when I used the Calibre 0.8.24 under
Windows XP.

The following is a copy of my "details" at the end.
