Hence marked as an opinion and not an actual bug.

Really, this needs to be reported to the upstream developers as a
feature request. Items of this nature do not make it to the actual
developers, nor are they likely paying attention. If you want something
changed, best make it with the actual developers, not the downstream
distribution.
