[Bug 835108] Re: Implement a simple "Properties" Dialog
Not to mention, this is the most common place that occurs to the common
user to configure File Sharing; sharing plug or no sharing plug. Of
course this is my opinion, You, Xapantu or Daniel Fore may disagree and
provide more sound logic.

Title:
Implement a simple "Properties" Dialog
Status in Marlin:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Nearly every file manager has a sort of Properties dialog that
displays some more advanced information and allows some modification
of permissions/executable status. While this is a more advanced task,
so is dealing directly with files in the first place.
Take a look at this screenshot: http://cassidyjam.es/xvClMk.png
As you can see, Nautilus (on the left) has a pretty big and confusing
properties dialog with six tabs, emblems, notes, and deatailed
metadata. That's the wrong way to go about it. PCManFM (on the right),
on the other hand, has a much simpler interface. The Permissions tab
(http://cassidyjam.es/NlAHxO.png) has the advanced permissions
options, but nothing more.
As of right now, I have to revert to the command line (or, *gasp*
Nautilus) to tweak permissions, something the default file manager
should be able to handle.
