Re: [Question #181951]: how to connect windows shared remote printer on Xubuntu 11.10

Question #181951 on samba in Ubuntu changed:

    Status: Open => Answered

Chris proposed the following answer:
Edit /etc/samba/smb.conf and change the workgroup name to your windows
workgroup as you have it on the Windows laptop.

restart samba:
sudo /etc/init.d/smbd restart

Install the printer, selecting the location as a samba printer then
selecting the host system and printer by name. If you can't select the
Host or the printer, check your Windows setup.

This is the easiest and most reliable way to do it if you just want
access to a Windows shared printer.
