Re: [Question #198022]: 12.04 better- but Samba networking not there yet

Question #198022 on samba in Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+question/198022

    Status: Needs information => Open

clombard gave more information on the question:
I have a small home-type "windows" network with four machines
(one Ubuntu and three windows xp and one 7). I have a hardrive attached
to a Netgear router (N600 WNDR3400v2) called "readyshare" connected
to the router by usb. I would like to share files in "readyshare"
across the network (read and write).
Ideally I would like to send files from Ubuntu to the windows machines
or/and to "readyshare". I could go through "readyshare" if that is
easier. No files on Ubuntu are shared with windows machines.
Ubuntu 12.04 was able to "see" the network and "readyshare" but could
not access either.
Ubuntu 11.10 doesn't see the network or "readyshare".
thanks
