Re: [Question #200092]: How to connect to a Windows 7 netbook from an Ubuntu 12.04 desktop

Question #200092 on samba in Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+question/200092

    Status: Open => Needs information

actionparsnip requested more information:
You don't need samba4, samba is all you need to be able to have the
system files accessible over the LAN.

Can you ping between the systems? BTW, please don't ambiguate
'connecting' with 'file sharing'. If you setup a mail server or a font
server, there will need to be a connection. It's much clearer if you
actually say what you are 'connecting' for. Thankfully the question
gives enough detail to clarify.
