Tonyt is still having a problem:
hi have done what you recommend ,still cannot conect to the ubuntu pcs
any other options  .also noticve when i power down the server the fire
it back up the shares have to be recreated .ie through properties  -
folder sharing - share this folder - choose the permission - create
share for each volume  .that server setting or bios battery dying ?..but
yet again can only be access in windows pcs not ubuntu.....i have notice
in the home folder section of 12.04 file option gives me the option to
connect to  server ,could access it that way.buy typing in the servers
ip address  ? if so which format ssh etc ? how to set it up.what should
i use what user name .password .other info should i insert .but idealy
would like to share via samba from server which the windows pc are doing
but not the ubuntu ones
