Tonyt is still having a problem:
the problem i have  try to make all my ubuntu 12.04 pc work together and
be able to access the server ..cannot any see any share between them .3
pc in total all running same ubuntu version .one pc has two 2tb
harddrives which are internal which have films and mp3s on want access
the two harddrives so can watch films or mp3s from any pc  also on this
pc u can create the share folders but if reboot they lose the share
commands  ,on that pc i can access as with all pc the home folders via
ssh but not the two hard

so i want all the pc to talk together .acces the 2x2tb drives on the
main pc which contians media and not lose its share setting when switch
off .the other 2 pcs work ok but no pc can talk to each other ,well all
three can  talk to each other plus able.to talk to  media on a nas box
which i want all pc to access  tryed ftp to access server but can open
files but they will not play .tryf ssh on the pc with the two harddrives
cannot them but can access the home folder .

looking to be able to access the server and all pcs and contents  from
any pc
