How do I do this-it looks scary to me.I was happy with old samba version. Can I revert to it?This was a crap update can we bin it?!

If this does not help, I suggest downloading, compiling and installing
samba4 via git:

https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO

If that does not work either, then I can only suggest removing samba4
and reverting back to samba3.

So there are still some options left...
