Immediately after incorporating these updates, samba restarted, and ever
since, I have received 60-70 errors like the ones below in the log every
day. samba was running for years before this with no errors in the log.

  Samba name server ST8 is now a local master browser for workgroup WORKGROUP on subnet 192.168.1.2

I have not been able to google any information about this "answer
differs from question" error.
