Question #247069 on samba4 in Ubuntu changed:

zedlouder posted a new comment:
It appears that you encountered an error while trying to configure the
samba4 package on your Ubuntu system. Specifically, the error message
mentions a permission issue related to the post-installation script.
This error occurred after you attempted to install samba4 on your
desktop computer but encountered difficulties during the installation
process. To resolve this problem, you can follow these steps: First,
open a terminal on your Ubuntu system. Then, use the command sudo dpkg
--remove --force-remove-reinstreq samba4 to forcibly remove the samba4
package. This command will bypass any post-installation scripts and
remove samba4 from your system. Once you have successfully removed the
package, you should be able to proceed with updating or installing other
packages without encountering the error associated with samba4.
