delete any residual configuration files using sudo rm -rf /etc/samba/.
If you want to completely clean up, you can remove Samba user data with
sudo deluser --remove-home <username>, replacing <username> with the
Samba username you want to remove. Lastly, check for any remaining
Samba-related packages using dpkg -l | grep samba and remove them with
apt-get remove or apt-get purge if any are found. For more info you can
