Re: [Question #235409]: remove samba4 and associated files
Question #235409 on samba4 in Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba4/+question/235409
Robyn G Knapp proposed the following answer:
To safely remove Samba4 and its associated files from your Ubuntu Linux
system:
Use the command sudo apt-get remove --purge samba to remove Samba4.
Run sudo apt-get autoremove to remove any associated packages.
Manually delete any leftover files in directories like /etc/samba, /var/cache/samba, and /var/lib/samba.
Verify removal by attempting to reinstall Samba4.
