[Question #820156]: DC users: Windows 11 24H2 says "insufficient system resources" when trying to login
New question #820156 on samba in Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+question/820156
This is less of a question and more of an FYI. Similar to the difficulties when Windows 11 22H2 launched (bug 1993934), 24H2 can (but does not always) exhibit strange behavior preventing users from being able to login.
The short answer is: In Windows' Local Policy, Network Security: Configure encryption types allowed by Kerberos has to be changed to allowing: "RC4_HMAC_MD5, AES128_HMAC_SHA1, AES256_HMAC_SHA1, and Future Encryption Types" (possibly less? I just know that's what worked!).
I wanted to provide a heads up / write-up of the solution for others who may encounter the issue.
I am providing a link to my personal blogs (no advertisements!! Just a geek sharing experience and knowledge!) if someone is looking for more specific instructions.
