Interesting thread! I ran into something similar when working on a setup and found it was easier to switch to the regular winbind package instead of winbind4 — it actually includes winbindd and works better for domain controller configs.
By the way, totally unrelated but if anyone’s also updating home setups, I recently found some nice window treatment ideas here: https://dbswindowtreatments.com/ — really clean, modern options! 😅
