enterprise-ubuntu team mailing list archive

Hello to new members

Hello to Phil, Marcos and Ian and all the other new members of the
Ubuntu in the Enterprise mailing list!

The list was stagnant for some time already, I hope we can break that,
get some new ideas and support each other with the enterprise-scale issues.

I do not think there are any specific directions that we all agreed on.
This community is varied, to say the least. However, I believe there are
some tasks that we decided to work on in joint forces.

First of all, there is the Enterprise wiki page on:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Enterprise
There is a stub article with potential topics we contribute to on
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Enterprise/Sketch

Personally I am working to extract the automation stuff we did in Tieto
to provide that publicly for anyone to use, unfortunately I'm not done
yet :(

Also, there is an effort to provide the "right" method to authenticate
to a central directory:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Enterprise/Authentication
This might require some discussions among the more general Ubuntu
community, but I really believe that if we provided the right way of
doing that, it would be accepted. Currently I think it boils down to the
problem of getting sssd included in main and getting some
directory-specific support tools there as well (realmd/adcli, msktutil,
etc). These would need to be selected and tested in each environment, so
volunteers are welcome :)

Cheers,
Ballock
