I used the SSH model (solution #1 above). It seemed like the most bullet
proof.

Since we have two networks (as mentioned), I configured a computer with
two NICs and allow it to be the Epoptes gateway, as it were.  It's not
doing any routing, but by putting one NIC on the thin client network,
and the other on the administrative network, teachers can use ssh, or
VNC to monitor the lab. I registered the NIC that is on the thin client
network as the server.

The only glitch is that screen captures and user name lables are not
appearing on the Epoptes main screen. I am getting the green thin client
icon and I can monitor any of the clients, but the screen captures are
not appearing and it decreases the usability of the software.  Is there
a config I can tweak?
