[Bug 393701] Re: FreeNX implementation of "X Server" is missing something

I have a proposal. Although we could modify the nxagent binaries to
accomodate a change in the location of rgb.txt, some applications source
/etc/X11/rgb.txt directly. If we have our own version of the rgb.txt
file with a freenx tag on it, we can copy this file into /etc/X11 on an
initscript start if the file doesn't exist and remove it on initscript
stop only if the freenx tag remains in it. So if the file changed
(package installation/upgrade) we wouldn't touch it, but if freenx is
removed and the initscript stopped it will be removed cleaning up behind
itself. This will cover the past present and future. I have confirmed
that copying rgb.txt into /etc/X11 does indeed fix this problem, but we
need to be careful not to replace an already packaged version with
another one.

So apparently the FreeNX implementation of X server is missing something.

I have the exact same issue as described in those forums. The application, amsn, works fine with logged in to the console (physically at keyboard), but when connected through NX ... amsn crashes as described in that thread.
