What model Audio Device is giving you problems? I am unfamiliar with the
G60/70 intel set up. I have AMD/Nvidia on my hpG60.

There are some additional options for  /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf in
this file
*command:*
zless /usr/share/doc/alsa-base/driver/HD-Audio-Models.txt.gz
