Hi,

Do you have parallel edges or each edge has a unique type ?

In Gephi you can use the Partition module to color your edges according
to your relationship type. Set the type as an attribute (string) of your
edges.

I think all layouts work a bit the same and would use edges regardless
of any type. For doing what you want to achieve you may have to
customize an existing layout. You could create a Gephi plugin for that,
and we could help you in this task.
