[Question #119401]: Can't allocate more memory for x64 Win 7

New question #119401 on Gephi:
https://answers.launchpad.net/gephi/+question/119401

Hello -

I've read the description at http://gephi.org/users/install/#memory about setting the memory limits for Gephi in the gephidesktop.conf file. I've tried numbers ranging from Xmx4096m down to Xmx1536, but in every case the JVM fails to launch. The default in the file is Xmx1024m.

I am running Win 7 x64 Professional with 12G memory. The Java version is
     java version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 16.3-b01, mixed mode)
which I believe is a 64-bit version of Java.

My graph has 123393 nodes and 255113 edges.

Any suggestions/assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

David
