Well, thats why EMGD needs Xorg 1.9 because of the ABI8.
Could you make researches and find out wheather Xorg 1.9 at all supports multitouch?

  multitouch does not work in HP Slate 500

Status in Intel® Embedded Media and Graphics Driver (Intel® EMGD):
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  On a fresh install of 11.04 (Natty) on the HP Slate 500 (which has the
  GMA 500), multitouch works fine. After adding the EMGD ppa and
  installing the driver, multitouch no longer works.
