Title:
If certain programs are opened unfocused, text is a lighter shade

Status in ubuntu-themes package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
When certain programs are opened unfocused, the text displayed is a
lighter (incorrect and harder to see, shade of grey. I've found this
to happen in gedit and Synaptic, at the very least.

To reproduce with gedit, open a text file (say, by double clicking on
it), but make sure another window is focused by the time it starts up.

The result is that the text displayed by gedit will be a lighter,
harder to see, shade of gray. If the window is dragged around the text
actually turns darker (i.e. the proper shade of gray) temporarily,
then reverts back to the lighter color once the dragging is complete.

If the file opens in gedit while it is focused, the text is darker
(i.e. the proper shade) and everything is fine.

See attachments for the text color comparison.

This is certainly a theme or unico theme engine problem (not sure
which though), since it occurs with at least two programs when using
the Ambiance and Radiance themes, while it does not occur using the
  high contrast or Awaita themes.

I'm using Ubuntu 13.10, though the problem has been there for a quite
some time, definitely since 12.04, but maybe longer; I just couldn't
figure out how to reproduce it until now.
