[Bug 579343] Re: this project needs a roadmap

My opinion is, this is currently addressed quite well with the launchpad
tracker. This applies even more so once people start using the LP
blueprint facility to streamline the development process.

Priorities can be well handled by using the LP facilities.

GNUSim8085 looks to be in a pretty good shape actually. In fact, in much
shape better than it used to be during its SF.net times: while there are
about 60 open "issues", most of these are not critical bugs, but rather
feature requests to further improve GNUSim8085 and improve its
usability.

This is a good thing, it shows that people are using the simulator and
that they are interested in improving it. This is further highlighted by
the fact that for 60 "open issues" there are 12 issues with posted
patches - i.e. a "FIX rate" of 20% - for an open source project that's
actually fairly decent, especially taking into account that this is
mostly about new features.

If you want to see a roadmap, it might be an idea to create some
blueprints here and link to those from the website or even from the
program. I am not very familiar with LP and the blueprints facility, but
I recently started classifying issues by creating new "meta categories",
I guess this could be further improved on eventually...

In fact, just inviting people to contribute to the project by adding a
short note to the splash screen and the about box, would probably
improve this situation even more.

Looking at the download stats, things are actually looking fairly
encouraging, not to say IMPRESSIVE.

the wiki page about project ideas makes it obvious that the project could benefit from some sort of roadmap, i.e. things that are desired in the short term, maybe by extending the wiki page and adding priorities?

don't know, maybe someone else has a better idea?
