I think the list must always be editable. I usually use this feature to put in input values into the memory. This is how we used to input values during our college days on the real 8085 kit.
Also during debugging editing values can help.

Bug description:
I've been using another 8085 simulator under Windows, and it includes a handy feature, it's a grid that shows memory address, io ports, and its values. I've included some screenshots. gnusim8085 includes a data inspector, but for using it you need to set variable names, and other couple of stuff.

I'll give it a try to develop somthing like that, but I'm not really good with GTK programming. I've just found this other project, but it seems to be dead, there is no code, or releases, but the screenshot includes something similar to what I mean.
