chrismd proposed the following answer:
I've committed the fix for this to trunk, you can build a new package
for the webapp from trunk like so:

# Checkout trunk
bzr branch lp:graphite
cd graphite/
python setup.py sdist

A new graphite-webapp package will be created in the 'dist/'
subdirectory.

Let me know if you run into any more issues.
