chrismd proposed the following answer:
The Ceres database is currently used in production at my former company,
that is the only production deployment I am aware of however. I believe
it is production ready from a performance & reliability standpoint, but
it is not for everyone (it is not documented at all yet, some
maintenance scripting is involved, etc). If you would be willing to give
it a try I'd be happy to help answer your questions on it.
