For Whisper, you can currently only have second resolution. What you
could possibly do is to aggregate the events yourself to second
resolution, and then put it in Graphite.

I've read there is another storage engine on it's way called "Ceres"
(see http://graphite.wikidot.com/roadmap). Whether that solves your
problem or not I cannot answer.
