[Question #200276]: no data in tree after upgrade; read previous issues

I downloaded from githib, then I upgraded all three packages using the recommended python setup.py install --force, I have checked file permissions per the previous install and they are ok, and I can see I am getting data via updates.log.  But I can't seem to see my old tree or new tree's in the web ui.

I also am having a bunch of other issues, but let's just start with this one. ;-).  Help is much appreciated.

centos: 2.6.32-220.el6.x86_64
Python 2.7.3
django 1.4
