Re: [Question #214925]: Zabbix integration and Graphite Dashboard

Question #214925 on Graphite changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/graphite/+question/214925

    Status: Open => Answered

Francois Mikus proposed the following answer:
Zabbix stores everything in its SQL database. The Zabbix core would need
to be hacked to forward the data to Graphite as well. This has not
happened. The only method you can use, is to run SQL queries against the
database and send the data to Graphite. This will work for small
datasets run in batches, otherwise you will kill your ZAbbix SQL
servers.

Zabbix is supposed to bring Cassandra integration for storing data
longer and in a distributed method (scaling, reliability, etc.)

If what you want is to use the great Graphite API and alternate
dashboards in parallel, well, for small scale ok, for large scale, oh
hum.

Other monitoring solutions offer integrated (without any penalties)
exporting to Graphite. (Shinken, Icinga, Ganglia, collectd and more)

Otherwise you can still do a lot with Zabbix own graphing solution.

Good luck.

Francois
