Willem de Groot confirmed that the question is solved:
Errr.. kicking myself right now for sheer stupidity. This is exactly
what you wrote carbon-aggregator for. It didn't occur to me that the
example contained literal patterns, I thought that I would have to
create 20.000*6 rules for it to work. But one rule would suffice.
