Re: [Question #218547]: Dashboard becomes unusable when UI configured for Tree (left navbar) after it was previously configured for Completer (top navbar)
Question #218547 on Graphite changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/graphite/+question/218547
Status: Open => Answered
rowan proposed the following answer:
Can you explain in more detail what you mean by "whole graphite install became
unusable"? There could be a problem with the web app, but the carbon-cache
process(es) run separately, so you should still be receiving data, even if you
can't view it - is that the case?
I'm not an expert on Django apps, so hopefully someone else can chime-in on the
UI / Navigation Bar problem.

When I toggled the "Navigation Bar" setting behind that option, my whole graphite install became unusable. When I log into the dashboard the page displays only the text

I haven't tried changing the setting on that to see if this is really a reproducible bug, but if it is then this might qualify as a security issue since it would allow arbitrary internet users to break anyone's graphite system. Please feel free to downgrade this to "Not a security vulnerability" if I am wrong.
